Ariel Winter (born Ariel Winter Workman on Janurary 28, 1998 in Los Angeles, California) is an American actress, singer and voice actor. Ariel began her acting career young, appearing in a Cool Whip commercial at age 6. She landed her first television role at age 7, appearing on an episode of the CBS sitcom, Listen Up!. She followed up these with roles in shows like Monk, Bones and ER. In 2007, was cast in the role of Gretchen in the Disney Original Channel animated series, Phineas and Ferb. Two years later, she had her breakout live-action role as Alex Dunphy on the hit television series, Modern Family. She, along with the rest of the Modern Family cast, have won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series four times. Ariel continues to do voice work, voicing characters in movies such as ParaNorman, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs and Scooby-Doo! Stage Fright.

Ariel has a purple belt in Taekwondo. She is the younger sister of actors Shanelle Workman and Jimmy Workman. She is an avid singer and has a band, WickedSweet. She is also involved in environmental charities, working to promote a greener living. In 2012, her sister filed to become her guardian, alleging physical and emotional abuse from her parents. In 2014, Shanelle became Ariel’s permanent guardian. In 2015, Ariel was romantically linked with Laurent Claude Gaudette. As of 2017, she’s been dating Levi Meaden.
